This guide will explain, step-by-step, how to create an Installation via the Online Portal, to allow for Zaptec Pro unit(s) to be installed correctly.
- You will be required to manually create an installation & circuit when installing Zaptec Pro’s.
- You can create and manage your installations through the Zaptec Portal.
Creating an Installation
- Once successfully logged into the portal, please Click onto the ‘Installations’ Tab.
- Then proceed to Click onto the ‘Add Installation’
- We should populate as much of the relevant ‘Installation Details' as possible to ensure records are easily identifiable & accurate.
- Please ensure that the ‘Type’ selected is ‘PRO’ – this is essential for Pro installations.
- Additionally, it is here where we select the most appropriate ‘Electrical Grid’ & set the ‘Charging System Circuit Breaker’ rating.
- Once the Installation details have been filled out, we can then click the ‘Add’ button at the bottom of the form to complete the installation set up.
Creating a Circuit
To create a circuit, we must have created an installation or at least have access to the Installation page of which we want to create a circuit on.
- Immediately after creating the ‘Installation’, the screen should refresh to show the newly created Installation – Please click on the ‘Circuits’ Tab.
- We should then click on the ‘Add Circuits’option, which will present a new smaller window.
- Please provide a name for the ‘Circuit’ being created.
- Set the appropriate ‘Circuit Breaker’ rating – (maximum 63A per circuit for a pro installation)
- Click on ‘Save’ to create the circuit for the installation.
Adding Unit(s) to the circuit.
- Once the circuit has been successfully created, we can then add our Zaptec Pro unit(s) to the circuit by clicking the ‘+’ button (located below the circuitry graph), which will present a new smaller window.
- Please type in the Zaptec Pro unit(s) ‘Serial Number’.
- Assign a ‘Name’ for the Zaptec Pro unit being installed – Ensure the ‘Activate’ toggle is ‘ON’ to ensure the unit is activated after install.
- Finally, click on the ‘Add’ Button below to complete the installation of the Zaptec Pro Unit – If any additional units are required to be added to the same circuit, please toggle the ‘Add more’ switch to ‘ON’, whereby we will be presented with a similar form to complete (Steps 13-15 will apply) -Alternatively, we may repeat steps 12 to 15.
We should now be able to see the units we have added to our circuit:
Handover to customer (Applying Owner’s permission).
- Begin by clicking on the ‘Permissions’ tab.
- We should then click on the ‘Give Permission’ option, which will present a new smaller window.
- Please select the ‘Users’ Tab & search for the Owners email address (if the Owner hasn’t already registered, we can then send an invite out at this stage to provide instant access as an owner for this installation).
- Click the ‘Search’ Button to display the results.
- Ensure the Checkbox is toggled ‘ON’ against the correct user to provide the relevant permissions.
- Click on the ‘Next’ Button to continue.
- Please ensure the ‘Owner’ checkbox is toggled 'ON'.
- Proceed to click the 'Next' Button.
- Please click on the 'Save' button to Complete – We have now successfully given Owner permission to the facility owner.
Different levels of permissions.
There are 3 different types of Permissions available:
- Users: Charging Only
- Owner: Permission to change most settings, access usage data & give other users permission to the installation.
- Service: Permission to change technical settings. This role is only intended for certified service partners.
Summary: To install a Zaptec Pro unit, we must manually create an installation through the Zaptec Portal, where we will then be able to create a circuit(s) to add the Zaptec Pro units.
