The UK Smart Charging features are available with:
- Zaptec Go firmware 1.1.0.5 or higher (when configured for United Kingdom)
- Zaptec Pro firmware 4.5.0.6 or higher (when configured for United Kingdom)
- Zaptec app 5.4.5 or higher
How do I configure the charging schedule?
Before proceeding, you will need to know your charger PIN code. Your charger will need to have UK Smart Charging enabled and it should also be registered in the Zaptec app.
Note: if you have previously enabled Scheduled Power Control in the Zaptec portal, we recommend that you change this back to Manual Power Control to avoid any conflict with the charger schedule. If you do this, please ensure that the Available current is set to the correct value; if it is set to 0A, charging will be disabled!
To complete these steps, you will need to be within Bluetooth range of the charger (<20m)
- Tap Chargers at the bottom of the screen
- Tap on your charger under SINGLE CHARGERS (if present)
- Alternatively, select the installation under INSTALLATIONS, then tap on your charger under CONNECTED CHARGERS
- Alternatively, you can access a charger directly via Home, (...) menu, Configure product and select the charger
- Tap on Advanced settings
- Enter the PIN code and tap Next
- Go to the SCHEDULE section
- To disable scheduled charging, toggle the Scheduled charging switch off.
- To change the schedule, tap on Schedule
- From here, you can set the desired start and stop time (or enable the UK Smart Charging default schedule if you wish)
- Tap Set
- Tap Save
The charger will now only charge during the specified time(s). At other times, the charging session will be paused (indicated by a solid green light).
Can I override the schedule?
Yes, provided your charger is online and not configured for "standalone" mode.
If the schedule has paused charging, this is shown by a green light on the charger when the car is plugged in and ready to charge.
You can temporarily override the schedule at any time:
- From the Home screen of the Zaptec app, navigate to your charger. It will show Charging stopped.
- Tap Resume charging to begin charging.
- Charging will now begin. You can stop charging at any time by tapping Pause charging
To permanently change the schedule, follow these instructions.
For owners: how to register your charger
Before proceeding, your charger should have UK Smart Charging enabled by the installer.
Zaptec recommends that owners register their charger for easy access to the Smart Charging features. If you have not registered your charger, follow these steps while within Bluetooth range of the charger (<20m):
- Using Zaptec app, tap + Add new from the Home page
- If you don't see that option (for example, if you already have another Zaptec charger), then go to the Chargers page and tap + Add new
- Scan the QR code (or enter the serial number)
- Tap Add Zaptec Go
- Enter the PIN and tap Next
- Enter your address -> Save
- Give your charger a name -> Save
- The UK Smart Charging confirmation screen is displayed. From here, you can
-
- Accept the default schedule
- Set your own schedule
- Remove the schedule
